Kitsune 1 by ZombieHun Kitsune 1 by ZombieHun
The first Kitsune doll is completed! This one goes to my friend who is currently stationed in Alaska. Her Kitsune was customized to look more like those arctic foxes that are in their molting phase (is that the proper term?). He is accented with very long piled white fabric and his dark parts are more of a smokey grey shorter pile. From tip of nose to tip of tail, this doll is over 25" long.

As previously stated, I love the little guy. He's simply beautiful. I love all of the details used on the face and the colors as well as materials used. I didn't notice before that he had two tails, and I think it fits the design rather nicely as well.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a suggestion, nor am I super familiar with making these types of dolls...but if possible I'd suggest trying to give it more of a rump. When sitting, it looks great, but when it's standing it looks rather flat. Though regardless I think it looks fantastic and will hopefully be able to purchase one of the lovelies in the future.

hmmm, well, I could look into making the butt a little "rumpier", but the way I had to attach the tails, the padding would have interfered with the construction and I honestly don't feel it would have been an aesthetic worth forcing in :(   But it was a good suggestion. If I come across another project that could benefit from it, I'll certainly consider it.

I can definitely understand that. I wasn't insulting it nor do I think it looks bad, so don't take my comment that way. I love your work and I definitely love this little guy!

You could call it molting I suppose.. as a dog groomer we call it "blowing coat". Happens when seasons change or after having puppies. Could also be called shedding, but shedding is a slower process than blowing coat.
