I wrap my pieces in modeling clay in a border thick enough and high enough to contain the mold material, assuming that you're using silicone or latex. If you're using plaster, I disagree with your use of this method.

Oh my! I must say I am IN LOVE with that bat head sculpt. May I ask if it will be on sale once it's finished (as a doll I am assuming)? I don't think I've ever loved a doll design more. <3
